Biography

Barry B. Fisher LL.B. is a mediator and arbitrator in Toronto. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1979 and has been an ADR practitioner since 1987. His practice focuses on both labour and employment law matters. He is the author of the Wrongful Dismissal Database, an online database published by Carswell, designed to assist lawyers and human resource professionals in determining reasonable notice. He is one of the most often chosen mediators for employment law cases under the Ontario Mandatory Mediator Program (now Rule 78). Barry is a frequent presenter at seminars and educational courses on issues relating to employment law, labour law, and ADR. He served as the Chair of the ADR Section of the Ontario Bar Association and is currently on the executive of the Labour & Employment Section of the Ontario Bar Association. He is also a member of the Ontario Labour Management Arbitrators Association.
